King, Queen and Bishop part of my proposed chess set. Each piece has a sprigged 'Face' hand moulded nad attached before firing.Celadon Glaze over stoneware.

My plan is to have each book titled with the name of a book that reflects the chess piece and to then slipcast them as a full set....will take some time I guess....maybe finished in 2003!Am working on tiles for the board too.

Handbuilt Celadon Bowl.Impressed fabric pattern on Stoneware.

The Song Dynasty of China perfected the Celadon glaze in 960A.D. and we ceramists 2000 years later try hard to emulate those wonderful masters....alas....their secrets went with them to the grave and so we stuggle to rediscover their masterful glazes!
